SOUND ON SCREEN: Monsterman

This is the story about a boy who wanted to be a monster, leading to the creation of his own persona and his heavy metal band LORDI. Tomi Putaansuu created its fantasy world as a child and still, approaching middle age, lives for the band.

Now five years have passed since their Eurovision Song Contest trophy, the first one ever for Finland. The band have debts of hundreds of thousands euros and even with that big international breakthrough, the public has cooled towards them and even finding gigs seem to be a battle. With band member deaths and quitting the band, things seem tougher than ever...
