An African Christmas is a distinctive experience. Think of balmy-summer evenings with watermelon and iced drinks spent in the company of family and friends, rather than snow and eggnog. This year the Joziburg Lane presents a Summer Christmas picnic with Christmas Carols.
Paul Emmanuel of Afrikan Child will be joined by a 10-piece performance band, including singers, to lead a night of Christmas Carols – from traditional Christmas songs, to famous African melodies. The music will explore the diversity and uniqueness of the summer festive season in South Africa.
The Joziburg Foodhall will be open to serve food and drinks, while the performance will take place in the neigbouring Event Hall. Guests can bring their own picnic blankets and cushions and set-up a picnic station from where to watch the musical performance. Food and drinks must be bought from the streetfood stalls and tasting bar in the Joziburg Foodhall.
Tickets at R100 per adult and R30 per child available from www.joziburglane.co.za
(no seating provided – this is a picnic style concert and guests need to bring their own picnic blankets and cushions).
Doors open from 5pm for food and drink
Performance starts at 7pm.
