The bittersweet comedy of the Argentine director Ana Katz questions the conventions of social relations and reflects on the wishes through the story of the trip of a middle-class Argentine family in the 1990s to the Brazilian coastal city of Florianopolis. Lucrecia and Pedro, both psychologists, are a long-standing marriage that is in an advanced process of separation (she is more determined than him), but they still decide to travel with their two teenage children, Julián and Flor, heading to Florianopolis aboard a dilapidated Renault 12 Break. After an endless and rugged course, they arrive at the supposed paradise of Brazilian joy, but the apartment rented in advance turns out to be a pigsty. Visibly disappointed, they choose to move to a fairly remote and hard-to-reach house offered by locals, Marco and Larissa whom they had met casually on the way there.
