We have some exciting news to share!

After almost 10 years of independent cinema, The Bioscope finds a new home at 44 Stanley, and would love you to be a part of this exciting upgrade!

This June will mark a decade of The Bioscope, so its only fitting that at this point we embark on an exciting upgrade to a bigger and better home. The beloved 44 Stanley will be home to The Bioscope from April.

The new facility is being built to better manage more events, like private screenings, birthday parties, conferences, and any other intimate events requiring an AV theatre. We're excited to be developing a more extended Bioscope gift shop, and also include other retail offerings like being able to have the physical store for our sister company Limited Edish.

Maboneng still holds a big place in our hearts, so we will continue to run our pizzeria and bar Chalkboard there, so when you next find yourself in Maboneng, be sure to come say hi.

From day one we have enjoyed and appreciated those who understand what The Bioscope is doing and supported us throughout. As we embark on this journey and go dark for a period in March we are asking friends of The Bioscope a chance to help contribute to these upgrades in exchange for some special benefits.

Because we are making use of our online ticketing system for this benefit drive, when you are buying one of these benefits as a ticket option, please ignore the date and time on the ticket.

Option 1. R500 - The Popcorn Benefit - Only for individuals please. Complementary and bottomless popcorn for you every time you visit us in 2020. Your name on our Friends Of The Bioscope plaque. Sign up to The Cine Society.

Option 2. R1500 - The Ticket Benefit - Only for individuals please. Complementary access into ANY public screening in 2020 (subject to booking ahead via email). Complementary and bottomless popcorn for you every time you visit us in 2020. Your name on our Friends Of The Bioscope plaque. Sign up to The Cine Society.

Option 3. R2000 - The Company Benefit - For organisations and companies. Complementary access for one member of your company or organisation into ANY public screening in 2020 at a time (subject to booking ahead via email). Complementary and bottomless popcorn for that one member's visit every time they visit us in 2020. Your company name on our Friends Of The Bioscope plaque. Sign up of any willing company members to The Cine Society.

Option 4. R3000 - The Private Party Benefit - For individuals and companies. This would get you exclusive use of the cinema room for your own screening event! This will be for a date and time we agree upon in writing over email, and is for 2 hours in the cinema room, or unless agreed upon in writing. And during this event, we will give all the guests complementary and bottomless popcorn!

*The Cine Society is a new social platform being set up by The Bioscope team for those that love to go to the movies! Basically it will be a platform for organising film meet ups and thus a way to meet people in your city that enjoy watching films as much as you do! So all benefit options will include membership to this that you can chose to continue using if its something for you.
