MORE INFO
Brief Stories is a programme of the National Audiovisual Institute of Argentina, that selects and funds the production of short films from new, upcoming filmmakers. The programme has been in place since 1995, and many famous directors from Argentina (Pablo Trapero, Lucrecia Martel, Daniel Burman) have made their first steps through it. We will be watching a selection of short films from the programme.
LAS ROJAS
Carmen practices Vaulting (artistic gymnastics over a horse) and has a tense relationship with her coach and teammates, as they will introduce her to a strange rite.
VEO VEO (I Spy)
I Spy is a game of discovery. Through questions and a sensitive inspection, we come to be aware of something someone else can be watching in front of my eyes. For this film, 33 women have gathered together to depict things the way we feel them, turning from ones one perception to an animated universe. I am one paying attention, but I can notice there is someone else watching, and another one too. So we are many women reflecting multiple sights, ready to face and show looks that can be interesting, touching or painful, shining in collective fantasy creation.
AMOR DE LANA
The life of Jimena (35), a woman trapped in an old love, changes forever when she meets Matías, a charming, funny, romantic being, but... A puppet! Now Jimena, for the first time, will know a real love but she will have to break several prejudices to accept it.
THE GIRL AND THE CREATURE
A little girl meets a little orphan bird and she falls in love with him but their relationship becomes impossible because the ways to love are of a very different nature for both of them. So the girl decides to leave the bird abandoned to their fate.
