An Ocean in One Drop

"You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop."
These words are widely attributed to Rumi, the 13th-century Persian poet, and they are the heart of this evening: an invitation to slow down and remember how much lives inside a single life, and how deeply our lives are woven together.
This is a one-night-only experience, and festival founders Rogier and François invite you personally. Only 50 guests will share it, and the evening is built around connection—to each other, to the land, and to something larger than ourselves.
It begins in Clarens, where you will be transported to Sandstone Gorge Estate, just outside the village. Enjoy a glass of champagne as the sun sets.
As darkness settles, you'll be guided to the estate's central dam. Floating on the water are 108 golden orbs, each glowing softly, each representing a single life.
The number is no accident. 108 is one of those rare numbers where mathematics, astronomy, the human body, and ancient tradition all seem to meet. Across cultures that never met, the same number kept surfacing as a symbol of wholeness and the complete journey.
Together, the floating orbs form a constellation on the water—a web of light connecting us to one another.
From the dam, the walk continues into the night, past sandstone formations older than memory, gently illuminated against the darkness. It ends on a private deck high above Clarens, where blues artist Smoke J. Lawrence performs an exclusive concert for you and your fellow guests, with the glowing town spread out below.
When the final note fades, your transport will be waiting to take you back to Clarens.
Fifty places. One night only. Reserve your tickets before they're gone.
