- Details

Clarens is known for its beautiful poplar trees, especially the leaves turning yellow in autumn.
Join us in making drawing charcoal from the dead branches of these trees. You will experience the high quality of the charcoal—much better than any charcoal available in local stores.
Once the charcoal is made, we will use it for still life and/or landscape drawing. You will learn either basic or advanced charcoal drawing skills, depending on your current level. You will also be able to take some charcoal home and continue practicing your newfound skills.
Workshop Facilitator: Kara Schoeman
Kara has experience lecturing Fine Art at the University of the Free State and was recently part of the first group of students to complete their Art Therapy Master’s degrees in South Africa.
No prior art experience is needed for this workshop.
