- Details

In this hands-on workshop, participants will transform Clarens’ iconic poplar trees into their own drawing charcoal. Using the tools provided, you’ll clean and cut poplar branches into sticks, place them in tins, and fire them to create soft, high-quality drawing charcoal. Once ready, you’ll put your handmade charcoal to the test by sketching still-life or landscape compositions on the provided paper. Measuring sticks, fixative, and putty erasers will be available to support your creative process, and snacks will keep the energy flowing. At the end of the session, you’ll take home both your finished drawings and a bag of charcoal you crafted yourself.
Snacks will be provided; beverages will be available at the venue at your own expense.
No alcohol may be brought onto the premises.
Street parking available close by.
