Although we may not be aware of it, design is one of the most powerful forces in our lives. It has been at the core of the 44 Stanley precinct since its inception and impacts every aspect of the community and the businesses within it. From spaces to experiences to products and how they are packaged and sold, the panel will look at good design and how it is essential to the success of all business going forward.
- Vicky Ross, retail, marketing and events specialist leads a discussion with panellists:
- Roxanne Ferreira, founder of Arrange Studio and designer of the Paradise Lamp
- Louél Schnolzer, designer and manager of Artist Admin’s Johannesburg office
- Matt Suttner, owner and founder of Sly Creative and Peachy Bar
- Kelly-Grace Gibberd, illustrator, retail consultant and co-founder of Me & B
The talk is part of Design Joburg Summer Collective: Conversations at 44 Stanley.
Taking place from the 28th to the 31st of October 2021, Design Joburg Collective: Summer Edition is a suburb-sized showcase to be held in the Kramerville Design District – this time with 44 Stanley and Victoria Yards added as fringe districts.
This Covid-compliant (and explore-at-leisure) event will be a mix of both outdoor and indoor attractions, using Kramerville’s various galleries, showrooms, venues and outdoor spaces. Throw in free-to-attend talks, pop-ups, graffiti and art installations, buskers, public displays, street spectacles and activations, and visitors are guaranteed a experiential feast.
