Event Description
Eco Printing Workshop with Host Margie Jordaan

Eco Printing is a creative expression using leaves and flowers (locally grown in our case) to imprint on 100% natural fabric. Eco Printing helps one become more creative and is very good for the mind and soul.

There are two opportunities to attend this exciting workshop; please select your preferred option from the calendar to your right.

In this 2 ½ hour workshop, you will:

• Learn what fabric is best to use for Eco Printing and how the mordanting process works.
• Experience how to lay the fabric, leaves, and flowers, how to use a tanning blanket, and how to wrap your art tightly with T-shirt yarn.
• Receive all materials, including a 100% Cotton non-snag Glodina towel (50x90 cm).
• Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and rusks.
• Pick up your towel later in the day once it has dried.

Join Margie Jordaan for a fun and interactive workshop to create a one-of-a-kind towel—your art will be a talking point for sure!

About Margie Jordaan

Margie is a Botanic Eco-Printer who lives just outside Fouriesburg on her family farm. Eco printing always fascinated Margie, and during COVID-19, she finally had the time to work and experiment with leaves and flowers. She later attended several courses on the subject.

Last year, Margie completed a course with world-renowned Eco-Printer Irit Dulman from Israel. This May, she looks forward to an advanced 10-day course in Portugal with Irit once again.
