Every year since our founding in 2010, The Bioscope has proudly hosted screenings of The Encounters South African International Documentary Festival. Celebrating its 25 year as a festival, Encounters returns to The Bioscope once again with screenings from 23 June - 2 July. Tickets are R80. BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

What The Soil Remembers Directed by José Cardoso | 2022 | South Africa | 30 min. What the Soil Remembers explores the rich history of a small Western Cape town called 'The Vlakte'. The film creatively highlights the town's cultural beauty and past, as well as the impact of Apartheid and the role of Stellenbosch University in the town's displacement.
