Pope's Bath (Uruguay)
Directed by: César Charlone and Enrique Fernández
Drama, Comedy
93min
It is the year 1988 and Pope John Paul II is going to visit Melo, a poor border community of Uruguay. The Pontiff will begin his tour of Latin America in this small town where more than 50,000 visitors are expected. The most modest are convinced that this visit will be miraculous for the soul and the wallet. Many believe that by selling food and drink to that crowd they will become almost rich. But Beto has a better idea: he will build latrines in front of his house and rent them.
