The Best of The Final Girls Berlin Film Festival 2026

Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, showcases horror cinema directed, written, or produced by women and non-binary filmmakers. Final Girls Berlin are committed to creating space for female voices and visions — whether monstrous, heroic or some messy combination of the two — to platform women as subjects and storytellers in horror. Seven shorts from Belgium, the US, the UK, Australia, Japan and SA— carnivorous plants, unwanted growths, not so friendly imaginary friends, demonic bargains, and the everyday horror of living in a body.

The Bioscope is proud to bring this unique and important film festival to South Africa this October once again thanks to independent film curator & programmer Deniz Sertkol. This is something we hope to keep as an annual event here at The Bioscope!
