Horizons Project Choir in Concert

The Horizons Project choir is a Pretoria based chamber choir specializing in the performance of new choral works by young South African composers. South Africa’s choral music landscape is vast and varied. The mixture of languages, cultures, traditions and a vibrant history has over time created a very unique tradition of music making and writing. Music has always been an intricate part of the cultures found in South Africa. But it has never before experienced a similar time period when the art of writing new music (and specifically choral music), has been so prevalent. This specific project explores the rich history of stories, fables and poetry found in South Africa. Featuring the music of Composers Zander Fick, Franco Prinsloo and Pieter Bezuidenhout.
