Horizons Project Choir presents Origins

The origins of South Africa's cultural landscape is vast and varied, and so much more the identities that are connected to these cultures. Though cultural identity is the identity of belonging to a specific group, in a multicultural nation like South Africa, their individual existence can truly only be understood together. Identity is a constantly evolving phenomenon; the meeting point where cultures cross and influence each other. It is only in allowing this process to occur, that cultural identities stand the test of time.

The Horizons Project choir invites you to come and explore various South African cultural identities through the lens of their languages, their practices and their individual identities. This album/concert explores the idea of identity and the way that it evolves from its origin.
