The Fish Tale
Director: Shuichi Okita
Starring: Non, Yuya Yanagira, Natsuho
Runtime: 139 minutes
Genre: Drama
Synopsis:
A quirky tale based on the endearing ichthyologist (fish scientist) and Japanese TV personality, “Sakana-kun”. From a young age, Mibo (played by actress Non) has been obsessed with fish and determined to work in marine science. It is easier said than done and he is ostracised for his eccentricities until he successfully breeds horseshoe crabs—a first in Japan—and the achievement is picked up by a national news station.
