I am from Palestine

As Saamidah, a young Palestinian-American girl, anxiously starts her first day of school, she finds her identity in question when faced with a world map that doesn't include her homeland.


Drawing for Better Dreams


(4:00) [Animation] 


By animating simple crayon drawings from Palestinian children, this moving film conjures up the struggles faced by Palestinian children on a daily basis and demonstrates the power of—and need for—allowing young people to dream.


Checkpoint

Set in the occupied West Bank, 11-year-old Leila wakes up before dawn every morning to queue at the checkpoint separating her village from her school.

10-year-old Najwa has survived a year of war and displacement. Al Jazeera first met the brave Palestinian girl as she was sheltering in a tent in Rafah, after Israel’s assault on Gaza forced her family to flee their home in Khan Younis. Now, six months on, she’s returned to find her city in ruins.


Night

The dust of war keeps the eyes sleepless. Night brings peace and sleep to all the people in the broken town. Only the eyes of the mother of the missing child remain resilient. Night has to trick her into sleeping to save her soul.
