Even though song-writing legend Leonard Cohen passed away in 2016, Mathys Roets wants to prevent that his voice never goes silent.

Mathys believes that the words of Cohen do not have an expiry date. “I heard Suzanne for the first time almost thirty years ago and I immediately knew that I wanted to sing with him as he told stories of love and pain. Cohen was never conventional, always looking for answers. He taught me to go and look for those lost answers.”

His love for Cohen, coupled with his vocal range, makes Mathys one of the few artists that can truly do justice to the songs of Leonard Cohen. Despite Mathys being known for his Afrikaans music, this show transcends all language barriers. Both Afrikaans and English speaking audiences will enjoy this moving musical journey with Mathys.
