EAT-ALONG: My Neighbor Totoro (1988)

The Bioscope is proud and so excited to present a special EAT-ALONG event on 15 August! Expertly curated and prepared food that will be delivered at specific points throughout a film. Author of the globally successful 'Unofficial Studio Ghibli Cookbook' Jessica Yun has prepared a special menu for the night! Booking is essential as this event is limited to only 30 tickets! Your R620 ticket is inclusive of all ticket fees, access into the movie, and the food menu listed below.

The Bioscope is partnering with Gravel Road Film Distribution to bring you 'The Anime Festival', special selection of Studio Ghibli classics to our big screen in 2024. We kick things off with the lovable 80's gem 'My Neighbor Totoro'. 

Screenings will be in Japanese with English subtitles!

• Satsuki's bento: Grilled Portuguese sardine accompanied with edamame beans, sakura denbu (sweetened hake fillets) topped with a umeboshi (pickled plum). All served on a bed of steamed jasmine rice


• Grilled corn & vegetable tempura straight from Grandma's garden served with a teriyaki dipping sauce


• Tartoro & decadent soot sprites (Totoro inspired black sesame tartlet accompanied with x 3 soot sprite chocolate truffles)
