NWU Symphony - A Russian Romance

Join the NWU Symphony orchestra on Saturday, 17 August at 19:00 for A Russian Romance as we visit the birthplace of some of the world's most beautiful music. We start our visit with the exciting Russian Sailor's Dance by Reinhold Glière. We are then joined by the talented young pianist Samir Dookie for one of the world's most well-known and beautiful piano concertos, Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18 by Sergei Rachmaninoff. We end the night with great Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's favourite work, Symphony No.1 in G minor, Op. 13. Each piece weaves a tapestry of rich harmonies and stirring melodies, evoking the essence of the Russian soul.
