Celebrate this coming Mother's Day with an unforgettable musical voyage as the NWU Symphony Orchestra presents Northern Odyssey – a concert of Nordic beauty and cinematic wonder. On Sunday, 11 May, at 15:00 in the NWU Sanlam Auditorium, this program offers the perfect afternoon of inspiration, warmth, and entertainment for the whole family.
From the commanding power of Sibelius's Finlandia to the stately Entry March of the Boyars by Halvorsen, the concert captures the spirit and drama of the North. A highlight of the program is Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, performed by celebrated soloist Tinus Botha, bringing passion and lyrical brilliance to the stage.
Interwoven with these classical gems are moments of modern enchantment—familiar melodies from Frozen, the sweeping fantasy of How to Train Your Dragon, and the unmistakable thrill of James Bond, including No Time to Die sung by Okuhle Nkhoma and an exciting medley with all the hits from over the years.
Kindly note that ticketsales will be online only - no door sales at the venue.
