SCREENINGS OF INTERNATIONAL GROUNDBREAKING THEATRE FOR TEENS
The Hamilton Complex
Presented by hetpaleis (Belgium)
Named after British photographer David Hamilton whose photos depicted nude teenagers, this boisterous production is a thrilling, screaming chimera of dance, poetry, song and games. Puberty, patriarchy, paedophilia and pregnancy all come under scrutiny as 13 girls, all aged 13, explore the transition between child and adult, between innocence and its loss.
Museum of Memories
Presented by NIE Theatre (UK|Norway)
NIE have made their own movable museum building, made up out of 70m2 of rusty drawers. Inside this room five people reconstruct a life that has ended. Two brothers, a neighbour, a teacher and a lover. With warmth, humour and music, they tell stories about the one they have lost.
Mess
Presented by China Plate (UK)
Written and created by Caroline Horton
Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2012 - 'The Stage' Must See award and Winner of Best Ensemble
Mess is a play about anorexia nervosa that tackles issues of the mental illness that rarely come to light. The production has toured theatres and schools extensively in the UK.
The Evil
Presented by Folketeatret | Teater Gruppe 38
Do you become evil by being treated evil?
Can violence be justified in certain situations?
Writer Jan Guillou’s personal and harsh story about the abuse he suffered as a child is chillingly well played by actor Claes Bang in this intense performance.
