South African Music Concert
Five experienced performers of new music will share their skills to bring to life the works of four young composers and three less young ones in the two halves of our one South African Music concert on Tuesday 29 August at 19:30 in the conservatory hall. The performers will be Mareli Stolp (piano), Magda de Vries (percussion), Morné van Heerden (clarinet), Elmarie van der Vyfer (viola) and Olivier Barrier (oboe). As in the past, the concert forms part of a series of events. The four younger composers - Kirsten Adams, Kristi Boonzaaier, Arthur Feder and Jaco Meyer - will attend lectures by Clare Loveday, Andile Khumalo and Hannes Taljaard (the older composers), and also ensemble rehearsals of their compositions that were composed for the four day event. Lectures and rehearsals are open to the public.
