Event Description
Special Screening of: HUMAN

HUMAN is a 2015 documentary by French environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand. The film is almost entirely composed of exclusive aerial footage and first-person stories told into the camera. It was the first movie to premiere in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations.

HUMAN is a collection of stories about and images of our world, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human. From stories of everyday experiences to accounts of the most unbelievable lives, these poignant encounters share a rare sincerity and underline who we are and what is universal. Our Earth is shown at its most sublime through aerial images accompanied by soaring music, resulting in an ode to the beauty of the world, providing a moment to draw breath and for introspection.

HUMAN is a politically engaged work which allows us to embrace the human condition and to reflect on the meaning of our existence.

Entrance fee is R100.00/person and includes a buffet with dishes from various parts of the world. Entrance at The Bioscope is at 18:30 and screening starts at 19:30. The movie lasts 3h11.

This event is supported by the Alliance Française in Southern Africa, the Fondation Alliance française, and the Fondation GoodPlanet and the Bioscope.
