On 27 September 2025, history comes roaring back to life at Heidelberg Heritage Station as we reimagine one of the most iconic moments in motoring — the legendary 1930 showdown between a Bentley Speed Six and Le Train Bleu.

Now in its 10th year, The Great Train Race is a full-day theatrical tribute to steam, steel, and soul: a cultural spectacle for the whole family.

What to expect:

• Steam trains from 1893 and 1946

Take your Great Train Race experience to new heights with our thrilling Heli-Flips! For just R500 per person, enjoy an unforgettable 3-minute ride with breathtaking views. Flights will run from 11:00 to 14:00 on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to join the queue early at the Heidelberg Airfield's Heli-pad to secure your spot.

Mini-Train Rides (10 min)13 Years and older: R60pp
2-12 years: R40pp
All aboard for our Mini-Train Rides at the Heidelberg Train Station! Enjoy a fun 10-minute trip running from 08:30 to 16:00 on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are R60 per person (13 years and older) and R40 per child (ages 2–12) - a perfect outing for both kids and adults.
