VUURBEES | FIRE BEAST - Vox Chamber Choir

In this choral experience, Franco Prinsloo and Vox Chamber Choir affords the audience an immersive musical event exploring and addressing the human impact on our natural heritage. We cannot deny the enormous destructive impact we as a species have on the planet any longer. In an hour long choral exploration, new compositions by Franco Prinsloo will be presented by the Vox Chamber Choir alongside installation artworks by artists Sonya Rademeyer and Andre van Rensburg. The unconventional venue, an underground parking space, forces the audience to reflect on the human disconnect with nature and green spaces by simulating post-apocalyptic underground bunker. 

Inspired by the iconic poem by Afrikaans poet D.J Oppermann, Vuurbees, the Vox Chamber Choir and composer and conductor, Franco Prinsloo presents this performance as a creative expression of their collective desire to advocate for environmental protection and sustainable human behaviour.
