The Youth Concerto Festival returns for its fourth annual celebration! As a key initiative of the orchestra, this festival aims to nurture and promote classical music in our country.
Conceived by conductor Jaco van Staden, the Youth Concerto Festival provides young musicians with the invaluable opportunity to perform alongside a symphony orchestra, paving the way for their development as soloists.
Following auditions held in November 2024, eight exceptional soloists, aged 12 to 22, have been selected to participate. This year's festival offers an exciting glimpse into the future of our local talent, presenting a diverse program that features instruments such as French Horn, Voice, Cello, Piano, Saxophone, Violin, and Trombone.
Additionally, the festival will spotlight 2024 soloist Lydia Weber, who will deliver a captivating performance of the complete Clarinet Concerto No. 2 by Weber.
