Printable Requirements List Click Here

Janet is a retired Home Economics teacher and is particularly passionate about teaching sewing and needlework. She has been quilting for about 20 years and has become addicted to such an extent that she has entered quilts in various competitions and exhibitions. She runs a sewing club at her local high school teaching young girls (and sometimes boys) the basics of sewing, hoping to instill a love of sewing that will become a pleasurable hobby for them. From time to time, she gives quilting and sewing workshops for adults in her village.

TWO DAY CLASS HANDWORK WEEKEND (LEVEL - ALL)

No sewing machine required!!!!!!
Students will be able to choose which of the 2 quilts they would like to make. They can either make a Tumbling Blocks Quilt or Inner City Blocks Quilt using English Paper Piecing. Students will learn a fun way to use up their stash to create a fabulous quilt with great visual impact. During the process of making these fun blocks, the magic of using colour value will become apparent.

Requirements List:

If students are using stash, they should find fabrics that will go together that are dark, medium and light in value for each colourway chosen.
If using only three fabrics they should have a dark, a medium and a light of whatever fabrics chosen. This is important for the impact of the block to work.
