Leanne is an SAQG Accredited Quilt Teacher. Her teaching style and philosophy incorporate a creative flair with diversity in both hand work and creative embroidery in her quilts. Leanne is a versatile teacher who uses traditional quilting methods and loves to add a twist of creativity and art to her classes. Leanne will teach you how to get your sewing machine to do so much more than the basic stitches you know. Her love for quilting will rub off on all those that she teaches. Leanne is an International award winning quilter. Her quilt ‘Imaginary Day’ won Best Use of Colour at the World Quilt Competition MANCUSO in 2018.
TWO DAY CLASS RIC-RAC RHAPSODY (LEVEL - ALL)
This is a fun and funky class where students will learn an easy technique for making a Drunkards Path with a difference. Other techniques which will be covered in the class include appliqué and quilt-as-you-go. Students are encouraged to bring along their “happiest” fabrics to spend some time playing with ric-rac braid.
Requirements List:
Fabric for Quilt (160cmx160cm):
- 8 x Fat Quarters – choose favourite fabrics which need to coordinate for circles
- Background fabric: 5m of 150cm wide Recommend Amafu or 6m of 115cm wide
- 1m sashing fabric
- 5m Stitch and Tear
- ½m Appliqué paper
- 3m Batting
- Ric- Rac 2m x 8 colours
Fabric for Table Runner (175cmx35cm):
- 10 x Fat Quarters – choose favourite fabrics which need to coordinate for circles
- 1m sashing fabric
- 1.5m Stitch and Tear
- 1m Appliqué paper
- 1m Batting
- Ric- Rac 2m x 5 colours
Rulers:
- 10 and/or 12 inch square rulers
- Usual 24 inch quilters ruler
