Helga’s fabric work has been a large part of her life. She has been involved with Fibreworks, a group
dedicated to breaking the fabric art boundaries, who have three catalogues called 'Major Minors I',
'Major Minors II' and 'Major Minors IV'. Helga was very involved in their production. She has also coordinated the Fibreworks website as well - http://www.fibreworksart.com/. Her work has featured
in several exhibitions nationally and internationally and she has been invited to exhibit in a number
of collaborative exhibitions. Her work has sold nationally and internationally. Helga is an Accredited
Quilting Teacher and specializes in fabric dyeing. She has taught in various South African venues.
You will explore how rust stains fabric in fascinating ways. Helga will be providing all the
requirements for this one-hour class: trays, zip lock bags, fabric, paper, rusty bits and pieces and the
mordants. You’re encouraged to collect your own rusty bits and pieces.
