Carol Hodsdon
Level: Intermediate
Carol started patchwork and quilting in the early 1990s. She began teaching in 1996 and obtained
her SAQG teacher’s accreditation in 2014. She has taught in Swaziland and Dubai and has taught at
SA National Festivals in Port Elizabeth and Durban. Carol has also taught classes at the Izotsha quilt
retreats. Carol enjoys teaching basics to beginners and technique classes to the more experienced
quilters. Her classes always include plenty of hints and tips. She is always looking for quick and easy
methods and loves to share them. Carol started a Facebook page during lockdown and shared the
progress of her scrap busting lockdown quilt as well as many techniques and ideas via short videos.

the Village Grassroots Quilters’ Guild. She has recently relocated to Howick and is also a member of
the Midlands Quilters’ Guild.
DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students will learn the very impressive technique of inserting a circle into a piece of fabric with a
neatly stitched seam – clean, neat and flat. Single and overlapping circles will be taught. Note: this is
NOT an appliqué method.
