201S Never-Ending Log Cabin Saturday 6th July
Session: 2 x 3hr
Level: Intermediate
Alet is a Master Quilter and SAQG Accredited Quilt Judge. She has 25 years of quilting experience
and has won numerous prizes in many genres. She likes to challenge herself to do different and
'new' things in quilting. She particularly likes to make quilts using a foundation base and then adding
extra texture to it. Her kind and gentle manner makes Alet a very popular teacher in the classroom.
DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a modern take on the traditional log cabin block. Only two different fabrics are necessary - the
background and the featured, interesting fabric. Two different cutting measurements will be given,
depending on the size the student wants to make the article. A discussion, tips and short notes will
be given about Modern Quilting.
Student Requirements:
Basic sewing supplies
Sewing machine in good working order
Extension cord and adaptor
Cutting board and rotary cutter
Quilter’s ruler
Pre-cut strips of 100% cotton fabric (instructions will be given after Registration)
Pre-drawn grid on foundation fabric depending on desired size of article (calico, sheeting or strong
Vilene)
