Paul has been involved in creating quilts since 1985. His quilts have won several prizes at quilt

Quilt Judge. Paul has taught at nearly all of the National Quilt Festivals. Internationally he has taught
in Zimbabwe, Germany, New Zealand and The Netherlands. He was invited to teach classes at the
9th, 10th and 18th European Patchwork meetings in Val d’Argent in France. Paul’s classes are
always a fun-filled learning experience.
DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION:
If you want a multi-coloured, pieced quilt using your scraps, but with two colours dominating to
create more unity, this is the course to do. This is an easy, mainly strip-pieced method, to create a
wall hanging, runner or even a bed quilt. No templates are involved. Quilters will be guided through
the process. Students can choose their own favourite colour palette, but Paul will advise them by
explaining different possibilities. Precise cutting, and some piecing instructions, will be provided
beforehand to those enrolled in the course. To keep the class to one day, initial piecing of certain
strips can be done at home. An easy way to cut 45° triangles will be demonstrated to eventually
construct square blocks.
Student Requirements:
Sewing machine in good working order.
Extension cord and adaptor.
Quarter inch foot.
Cut strips according to my instructions.
Medium grey or medium brown sewing thread.
Rotary cutter with sharp blade.
Cutting board - Paul suggests a cutting mat with vertical and horizontal lines with one 45° diagonal
line.
9” or 12” ruler with 45° line on ruler.
Basic sewing supplies.
