Rosalie is obsessed with light and colour, loving the rich contrasts resulting from the juxtaposition of 
cottons, silks, velvets, brocade, and sheers. She loves traditional quilts but wants her quilts to say 
something about their time and place in history and come directly from her life.
As a teacher and artist, her aim is to fill her students with confidence and the excitement she feels 
about creating art in fabric and fibre. Rosalie aims to guide them in the direction of their interest in a 
non-threatening supportive environment, so that they create more than they thought possible.

DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE …. Three one- day classes that are linked: Delegates may do one, two or 
three classes that lead on from each other and can result in more in-depth input from the 
instructor. However, each day’s class is totally independent and does not require the student to do 
them all. Using the supplied fabric packs enjoy one, two or three days of this exciting Earth, Wind 
and Fire exploration to create a small series of quilts that each focuses on a different aspect of 
nature and design with a variety of fabrics.
BONUS:
Anyone signing up for all three consecutive days gets a bonus pack of water fabrics of cool watery 
blues, greens and aqua silks, metallics and cottons to continue making your series!
In this Earth workshop, celebrate the magic of texture as you make your small landscape with a rich 
variety of textured fabric and threads in rich earthy browns, coppers, golds and greens. As you work 
by hand or machine with your supplied kit, feel and layer velvets, tweeds, corduroys and cottons. 
Fold, cover and cut before adding textured stitches and knots to complete a 30cm x 30cm block. The 
fabric pack will contain backing fabric, a variety of textured fabrics including velvets, tweeds, 
corduroys, cottons, wool, a variety of hand-stitching threads of different weights, and appropriatesized needles for the threads.

Rosalie will make up the exciting kits especially for this class that include special?fabrics from her 
own collection that she has been saving for you.
These will include:
Backing fabric, a variety of textured fabrics including velvets, tweeds, corduroys, cottons, wool.
Variety of hand stitching threads of different weights.
Appropriate-sized needles for the threads
Student Requirements:
You may work by hand or machine or both, so choose your supplies accordingly.
Basic sewing supplies.
