Tracy started when she was a little girl. After many years of making clothes and dance costumes, she
attended a quilt class and finally found her passion. She believes in attending as many different
classes as possible as no learning is ever wasted. She takes great pleasure in creating, learning
experiences that excite, inspire, challenge and leave students eager for more.
DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students will make their own piece of padded fabric which will then be decorated either by using
their machine’s decorative stitches or by hand, creating wonderful textures and learning techniques
that can be applied elsewhere. The padded fabric can then be used to cover a journal, make a bag,
or become part of an artwork.
Student Requirements:
Sewing machine in good working order
Extension cord and adaptor
Variety of selvedges of different widths but at least 1” wide including the selvedge
Piece of thin batting fat quarter size
Machine piecing thread in matching and contrasting colours to your selvedges
Walking foot
Variety of hand embroidery threads in various colours (optional)
Hand stitching needles suitable for the hand embroidery threads (optional)
Small, sharp fabric/embroidery scissors
Basic sewing supplies
